Sunday, April 15th

Not exactly a castle, but the next thing to it is the Huis te Echten, the home of a cavalry captain who served under the first Prince of Orange circa 1185. There's still water in the double moats that surround the property.

We walked the trail through the nearby forest. Huge oaks and beeches - quite unlike what you'd find around Whitehorse.

Another spectacular day with 25 C temps and sunshine.

Check out how the more common folk live today. Pretty nice, if you ask us.

Here's a farmhouse, the date on the front shows 1745. They seem to look after their properties pretty well here.

In this shop SE got a nice ring made by a local artisan. That's me grinning because she's so happy with the ring. It has a lovely stone that sparkles inside - very unusual.

We're not sure when the next post will be. We leave for Austria on Tuesday morning on our Eurail Tour. Hopefully, there will be a computer available at the B&B (which they call a 'pension' in Vienna - appropriate for a pensioner, don't you think?)
