After weeks of -30 to -38 C temperatures, we have been enjoying a spring thaw for the past few days. The forecast for the next five days in Whitehorse is between +5 and +10C (50 F.). For the third week of January, this is incredible!!
We're just hoping that it doesn't completely remove the nice snow cover we have over the gardens. We will surely have at least -25 C temperatures before spring comes, and we don't want to expose perennials to those temps without a good snow cover.
In the meantime, we're going to enjoy the snow-free deck and the barbeque. It's been great!
And the new seed catalogues are here. We've already gone through them and chosen the annuals we'll plant this summer.
