Garden - Spring 2016

It's been a while since we posted to this blog.  It's time to bring things up to date.

Let's start with some pics from our garden near the end of June. Click on any of the images to for a large view.

Bee at the Double Flowering Almond

This year's addition to the rose garden - an Explorer rose, Martin Frobisher
A blue Cranesbill (Geranium himalayense)
'Nugget' Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius) with Disco Series Marigolds
Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla mollis) with Powder Face Willow (Salix commutata) in the background
Lilac 'Dappled Dawn with variegated leaves - the blooms are large and heavy on the branches
Wildflower - Arnica Montana appears as a volunteer in the crack beside the walkway
A nice start to the cascading red petunia
One of our favourite shrubs, the variegated Dogwood (Cornus alba)
A hardy Primrose (Primula sieboldii) that blooms early and  self-seeds readily, even between the cracks in the walkways
