Today was the perfect fall day to walk around the Yukon Wildlife Preserve on the Hot Springs Road.
Here are some photos. Click on any of them to see a larger view.
Something has this mule deer's attention.
It doesn't seem to matter how close you get, this mule deer just stays put. Not the first time they have seen a visitor with a camera.
The fall colours were awesome on the walk between the animal enclosures.
A mountain bluebird poses on top of the wire fence.
The elusive lynx could be spotted in the forest undergrowth. Shooting with a 400 mm lens through a chain link fence is a bit tricky, but it works.
Two lynx kittens were seen, this one was quite interested in what I was doing.
While I was shooting, a butterfly caught the kitten's attention.
A muskox grazes.
Bison on the range in front of the boreal forest.
A female bison nurses her young calf.
This bull elk rests comfortably, but keeps an eye on me.
