Here we are mid-February and already looking forward to spring. Before Christmas we bought an amaryllis bulb at Superstore. One of the side-stalks bloomed, but didn’t show too well. The the stalk from the other side of the bulb bloomed this past week.
Not too bad! We’re still hoping that when this one fades the centre stalk will still emerge and produce the huge awesome bloom we were looking for in the first place.
Then, a couple of weeks ago Kevin and Renata brought over a small pot of forced tulip bulbs, which are now in full bloom. These yellow tulips do indeed inspire thoughts of spring and new growth. Very nice!
Both are sitting in the windowsill with the outside snow in the background, reminding us that it’s still winter for a while yet.
