We took the complimentary shuttle bus from near the hotel to the Airport this morning at 7:00 am. This gave us lots of time to find out where and how to check in (which was a breeze) for our flight with Croatia Airlines to Popovača, Croatia. There was time for a relaxing coffee and getting caught up with the journal.
The flight was about an hour and twenty minutes – a real treat after the 9-hour flight from Whitehorse to Frankfurt.
This bus transports passengers from the plane (an A320 Airbus) to the airport terminal in Zagreb. Quite different than walking into the terminal from the traditional ‘bridge’.
Quite a nice terminal. We hung around until Kevin and Renata came to pick us up.
And then on to Popovača! Incredibly, the speed limit on the freeway is 130 km per hour. And if you’re doing 127, as we were, there are lots of cars passing as if we were standing still.
We had a nice meal when we arrived, and enjoyed the air conditioning recently installed – a respite from the 38 C temperature outside.
Gratefully, when evening came, it cooled down to about 28 C, making it bearable but still a bit too warm for Yukoners.
A lovely sunset, sillouetting the weathervane airplanes in the back yard made by Renata’s late father.
The flower gardens were dried right out from the day’s heat, so Susan had the garden hose out to do some watering as the sun was setting.
