Cats & Dogs

It’s a cold, rainy, and generally dreary day in Whitehorse.  Chilly in the house, too.  So we turned on the gas fireplace to warm things up.  Coki, the cat, just loves to lay on the small matt in front of the fireplace. But since we last had it going, the figurine of a small yellow lab with a retrieving dummy has occupied Coki’s favourite spot.  Although he wasn’t happy about the ‘puppy’ being there, he decided to sidle up and enjoy the warmth.

Kind of like lying on the beach in the sun, when you have to turn around to get an even tan.  Likewise, Coki thought he’d check out the other side.

He still doesn’t seem all that pleased about having to share the matt.

In the words of Shakespeare,

Alas, the storm is come again!  …  misery
acquaints a man with strange bedfellows.

The Tempest Act 2, scene 2, 33–41

UPDATE – August 22, 2011

OK, we’re good with it now!
