The ‘Super Moon’

Tonight Kevin and Hank set out to photograph the ‘Super Moon’, a phenomenon that happens infrequently (the last one 18 years ago) when the moon is closer to the earth.

The idea was to see the moon just as it was rising over the mountain tops, when it was much bigger and had a yellow hue.  But, alas, there was cloud cover and the shot was missed.

But, at about 11:30, when the moon was higher in the sky and the cloud cover disappeared, there it was in all its glory, without the yellow hue.  Still pretty neat, we’d say.
