Living the Dream

Today Hank and Kevin & Renata went out to check on 'Titan'. This is the horse Hank will ride this summer along the Whitehorse waterfront in North West Mounted Police uniform as part of a Horse & Rider program with the MacBride Museum of Yukon History (of which Hank is the Board Chair).

Talk about living the dream. For a guy who always wanted to have a horse, here he gets to ride Titan with the MacBride program for the summers, and can ride him whenever he wants at the indoor riding arena on the complex where he stays. So, all the fun of having a horse without all the responsibilities of ownership. Pretty awesome!

Here are some pictures Kevin took today. Titan isn't showing his best because he just loves to roll in the dirt and dust when he's turned out into his pen, shown here. Check out the surroundings, though. What a place!

In the neighbouring pen is a beautiful andalusian horse owned by a local veterinarian. For some reason this mare wears a mask of fine mesh - perhaps as a sun block and bug screen. The front of the mesh has these eyes painted on it. It's hilarious when she comes up to you and seems to look at you with those 'eyes'.
