Construction Update - October 7th

Finally, the facia boards, soffits, eavestroughs, trim and siding have been installed. Although it's been great fun doing the work, poor weather has delayed things considerably.

This is not the home for the barbeque. It gets tucked away into the corner (below where the tree shows in the photo). We had to move it out temporarily until Mike the electrician installs an outside receptacle.

We opted to go with painted aluminum deck rails and tempered glass panels. The two panels closest to the camera are still awaiting glass. When the package came, the manufacturer was unsure what the final sizes would be of these panels, so we had to order them locally. Unfortunately, tempered glass is not in stock in Whitehorse, so they are on order. The bottom rails have been removed so they don't fill up with moisture and freeze in the interim. Hopefully, we can still install the glass when it arrives in November.

This morning we had some frost showing up on the glass panels, so we took a couple of close up photos - shown in the next post.
