Great to be back home after our Big Adventure. Can't believe it's been almost a year since we were in Europe. We now realize the 'adventure' continues as we move forward with this thing called RETIREMENT.
We thought, on our return, we'd have to start cultivating the small consulting practice that had been planned. There was an interest in staying connected with the Ombudsman and Information&Privacy community, but we didn't know exactly how to let people know about Common Ground Consulting. Turns out, we didn't have to worry. Calls were coming in to lead training workshops on administrative fairness; to do stakeholder consultations on regionalizing a national office; help facilitate workshops on 're-engineering' work flow; and helping a Yukon community program grapple with privacy issues.
So, it hasn't been boring. The consulting practice is off to a good start.
We also decided to put the extension on our house this summer. Plans are drawn up and we're working with a contractor to finalize the details. Once the addition is on and the new deck is built, our back yard will be AWESOME !! We'll post some pics as time goes on.
